In my profession as a marital therapist I encounter all sorts of problems and conflicts among the couples I treat. Most, if not all of these problems stem from misunderstandings and a general lack of communication between husband and wife. And many times the dynamic of the relationship is not understood or thoroughly embraced by the couple. In any marriage there must be a leader, yes, I know many of my colleagues argue that a relationship should be fair and balanced, and that there should be no dominant partner or seniority, but in truth all ships need a captain to weather heavy seas and stay afloat. It is a natural and universally understood principle and being a female myself, one that I adhere to in all my marriage counseling and couples therapy.

Since time immemorial it has been assumed that the male, being larger and physically stronger, is the natural leader and dominant personality in a marriage, especially when the wife is younger. But it is also realized that the woman, by virtue of being the one who bears the children, is also usually the one who the relationship is built around, and enjoys a much stronger presence in the marriage than one might assume from outward appearances. Indeed, it might come as a shock to many people to learn (or in some case, admit) that it is the female who is the natural leader and dominant personality in most marriages.

And this carries over into both the sexual and disciplinary aspects of a relationship too. We’ve all heard the horrible stories and examples of men who beat and physically abuse their wives, something that is to be both abhorred and prevented, but how many know the flipside of the coin? The fact that in many marriages it is the wife who employs physical means to enforce her will? It’s true, and in some of the following cases I am going to relate, you will see that many wives spank their husbands, and in some cases, use much harder and forceful methods than just the common approach of a bare hand on a bare bottom to achieve their desired disciplinary results.
